Housing and Transportation
Students are responsible for securing their own housing, but we can provide you with information about the various housing options.
1. Living On-Campus
The on-campus University Apartments house students in one, two, and four bedroom units. The units contain a kitchen and living area separated by a counter-top bar and they are furnished with basic furniture and appliances. Please visit the Atlanta Residence Life website in order to read more. There is very limited availability in the apartments, so students cannot be guaranteed a space. Students must speak with the Residence Life Office and follow their application process.
A homestay is a great way to immerse yourself in U.S. culture and experience true American life. Often the families will provide meals and transportation to Mercer as well. The ELI does not provide homestays, but we can direct you to some great companies in the Atlanta area that do.
Many of our students choose to rent an apartment during their time at Mercer. There are two apartment complexes within walking distance of Mercer’s ELI and many others within close driving distance. Contact us for more information.
Mercer University is located on MARTA Bus Route 126. We’re also a short walk away from other bus route stops, and about 3 miles from the Chamblee Metro Station. Many of our students use Atlanta’s public transportation system (MARTA) to get to campus, other students purchase cars or get rides with their homestay family, and some use taxis or ride-sharing services such as Uber or Lyft.
