Exchange students to Mercer University’s Macon campus bring an array of unique experiences to share and goals to accomplish while in the United States. Mercer University welcomes undergraduate students from our exchange partner schools to study for either one semester or an academic year in Macon. Our exchange partnerships are strategically aligned to assist students with obtaining a high level of academic instruction in areas that are most relevant to their academic goals.

Students who wish to attend Mercer University as exchange students on a J-1 visa must be nominated by one of our partner institutions. If you are interested in attending Mercer University as an exchange student, please visit your home institution study abroad advisor.
Once an official nomination has been made and accepted by Mercer University, you will be instructed to complete the Incoming Exchange Application. It is highly advisable to wait until you receive confirmation from Mercer University that your nomination has been accepted before completing the application.
Upon completion of your online application, Mercer's IOffice of International Programs, will contact you. Once official acceptance to Mercer University for your exchange semester/year is granted, you will be provided with immigration documents and instructions on how to apply for a J-1 visa. English Proficenicy: Proof of English proficiency test scores if English is not your native language. For students whose native language or language of instruction in secondary high school is not English, an official TOEFL score of at least 80, with at least 20 on each section, or an official IELTS score of at least 6.5 is required.
