ACADEMIC PROGRAMS & STUDY ABROAD

The following undergraduate programs in Macon have study abroad as an intergral part of their curriculum.

Business Students: Business students in the MAPS (Managed Academic Path to Success) program can study abroad, do an internship, or a combination of the two as fulfillment of their 'experiential component.'.

Foreign Languages: With the permission of the Department of Foreign Languages, students can take overseas language and content courses in Chinese (Mandarin), French, German, Latin, and Spanish. Students may also earn elective credit in the languages of Arabic, Czech, Danish, Chinese, Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Swedish at Mercer's partner study programs.

International Affairs Concentrations: Students with a concentration in International Affairs are required to study abroad for at least one semester (refer to the requirements for concentrations within the section on the College of Liberal Arts).

Honors Program: Students in the Honors Program are required to study abroad prior to graduation. Please consult with either the Honors Program director or the International Programs director for further information.

Once accepted into the study abroad program, students must fulfill the responsibilities listed below in order for Mercer to accept academic credits from a foreign institution.

Service-Learning Scholars: Students accepted into this competitive program are required to participate in a Mercer On Mission program that is exclusively designed for their specialized honors track.

Enviornmental Studies & Policy AND Environmental Biology program students have the Mercer On Mission program built into their curriculum. Another study abroad program may be approved in lieu of a Mercer On Mission program. This discretion is made by the academic program director.

Global Health Studies has a Mercer On Mission or approved study abroad experience as a component of its concentration. See the academic program director for specific information of the international experience scheduled for the program that year.
